In March 2026 began with the reconstruction of Mariborska cesta, between the overpass over the highway and the main intersection near the barracks.
The work is expected to last until March 20, 2026. The purpose of the reconstruction is to improve traffic safety and flow, as the section is one of the most heavily trafficked city access roads in the Celje area and surroundings.
The work will be carried out in individual phases. Within each phase, lanes and directions, as well as some access roads, intersections, access to buildings, and certain bus stops, will be temporarily closed.
Over the weekend (March 6 - March 8), the work will continue towards Hudinja, specifically between the intersection of Cesta v Trnovlje and the Celje center highway connection (A1 MB - LJ).
For access to Cesta v Trnovlje, the road connection along the route Celje East highway junction - Trnovlje or Mariborska Road - Dečkova Road and back via Mariborska Road to Cesta v Trnovlje is used.

On Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, work will take place at the Celje Center highway interchange. At the Celje Center exit, it will not be possible to turn left towards Celje, nor will it be possible to enter the highway from the direction of Vojnik.
The road to Trnovlje will be closed on Sunday, March 8, in the morning hours at the intersection with Mariborska road. Access will be via Trnovlje near Celje.
We suggest that you follow current information on promet.si, as work is carried out in phases and the situation may change. Slow traffic is expected in the work area and its surroundings.
Traffic participants are asked to observe the temporary road traffic signage.
