Works at Bled

Between March and May 2024, the traffic regime on the Lesce-Bled road between Koritno and Bled will be changed due to the construction of a roundabout at Betin, according to the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency.

The work will be carried out in stages.

The first half of the road closure at the top of Betinski klanec is planned from 4 to 24 March 2024.

Traffic will be managed by traffic lights – alternating one-way, as well as through manual traffic management at peak hours or during daylight hours. At peak hours and during increased traffic, there will be a chance of traffic slowdowns throughout the area.

It is expected that from 24 March to 1 April, traffic will be two-way, on the right lane of the existing road towards Bled and on the new section towards Lesce.

The second half of the closure on the lower part is foreseen from 2 to 21 April. The traffic regime will be the same as for the first half of the closure in March, i.e. alternating one-way traffic with additional traffic management.

From 21 April, traffic will be diverted to the newly built part of the roundabout (over the bridge) and will be two-way.

By the end of May, cycling and pedestrian traffic past the construction site on the newly constructed areas will also be arranged.

Construction work will take place over a 12-hour period (during daylight hours) and only the delivery of necessary materials is planned for the nighttime, as there is insufficient space on the construction site to store all the necessary materials. To avoid congestion in Bled, the time needed for vehicles driving towards Lesce will be longer.

In the event of favourable weather conditions, work in the first stage will be completed before 24 March and in the second stage before 21 April.

The Slovenian Infrastructure Agency thanks all users for their understanding and tolerance.
