Traffic forecast March - April 2024

Due to the upcoming national and school holidays in some countries, increased traffic from Austria and Italy to Croatia is expected from the middle of this week onwards. Rest areas will also be more crowded. In the opposite direction, there will be a significant increase in traffic, especially on Monday and Tuesday (click >>> Traffic Calendar).
 



A traffic restriction for goods vehicles and groups of vehicles with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 7.5 tonnes will be in force in Slovenia on the following days: between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, 29 March before Easter, and between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday and Monday 31 March and 1 April.

 

A1, Maribor - Ljubljana

  • On the night of Wednesday and Thursday, 2./3. and 3/4 April (works/the cleaning of the Pletovarje and Golo rebro tunnels) traffic will obstruct on the section Dramlje - Slovenske Konjice towards Maribor, probably from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. On Tuesday against Maribor and on Wednesday against Ljubljana.
  • Work is underway at the Lukovica junction (return road). Access to the rest area from the parallel road to the Lukovica rest area will not be possible between April 2nd and 12th. At the Šentilj crossing in the direction of Austria, work is in progress, the driving and overtaking lanes are closed, traffic is in the far right lane.


A2, Karavanke - Ljubljana

  • On Tuesday, April 2, approximately after 8:00 a.m., the flow of traffic between the junctions of Jesenice east and west (Lipce - Hrušica) will begin to change, in both directions. On Thursday, April 4, in the morning, traffic will be diverted to one half of AC (Jesenica east and west towards Ljubljana), where it will run in two directions. The renovation of the Podmežakla 3L and Podmežakla 4L viaducts is expected by 30 July 2024.
  • Work is underway between the Koseze junction and the Šentvid tunnel. 

 
A5, Maribor - Pince

  • The traffic flow at the Dolga vas intersection has been changed until April 15. The detour from the direction of Murska Sobota towards the Dolga vas crossing is via the Lendava junction, and from the direction of the Dolga vas crossing towards Lendava via the Turnišče junction.
     

Škofja Loka bypass

  • On Wednesday, April 3, half-time closure of the Sten tunnel. The lane from Poljane to Škofja Loka will be closed. Traffic will alternate in the second lane and will be manually controlled. The closure will last from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
