In January 2026, construction of a roundabout at the Brnik highway interchange began, according to data from DARS d.d. and the Directorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Infrastructure.
The road section runs between the settlements of Šenčur and Spodnji Brnik. Work in the area of the Brnik interchange and on the connecting road G2-104 Kranj - Spodnji Brnik will take place in several phases.
The Brnik roundabout is expected to provide easier access to the Kranj – Brnik state road. Speed in the work area is limited to 50 km/h.
Traffic flow will be adjusted according to the progress of the construction works. Completion is expected in 2026 or until construction is finished.
Research suggests that the new roundabout should contribute to improving traffic safety and flow, including relieving the Kranj East highway exit.
Drivers are advised to observe temporary traffic signage.
